"I recently did bought the Shure SM58 Pro XLR Dynamic Microphone, and while it’s a fantastic mic with excellent sound quality, especially for vocals, I found myself drawn to the new SHURE MV7+ USB-C model. The SM58 has a classic, robust design and delivers clear, professional audio, but the MV7+ offers the convenience of USB-C, making it incredibly sleek and easy to use with both USB and XLR options. The MV7+ is perfect for those who want high-quality sound but with the added flexibility of modern connectivity, especially for podcasting or streaming. While the SM58 is still a great choice for stage performances or professional setups, the USB-C feature of the MV7+ makes it a more convenient and versatile option for those working from home or on the go. Both are great, but the MV7+ just edges out for practicality."

""Industry Standard" is a phrase you'll often hear used to describe the Shure SM58 microphone, and for good reason. Built like a tank, and designed to sound great and minimize feedback. This is the same mic that is used on stages in stadiums and clubs across the planet. This is primarily a vocal mic, so if you're looking to mic instruments, you're better off going with Shure's SM57 model. That said, you could probably run one of these SM58s over with a truck and it would still work perfectly and sound great for your vocals."

"The Shure MV7 (Limited Edition) USB/XLR Dynamic Microphone is an amazing piece of equipment. This microphone is perfect for podcasting, streaming, and voiceovers. The build quality is top-notch and the sound quality is simply outstanding.
One of the things I love about the MV7 is the dual USB/XLR output. This means you can connect it to your computer via USB, or to a mixer or audio interface via XLR. This is great if you want the flexibility to record in different environments. The MV7 also has a built-in headphone jack with zero-latency monitoring, which is really helpful if you're recording in a noisy environment.
The MV7 has a cardioid polar pattern, which helps to reduce background noise and focus on the sound source. This is great if you're recording in a noisy environment, or if you want to isolate the sound of a single person. The microphone also has a built-in shock mount that helps to reduce handling noise, which is great if you're using it in a mobile setting."

"If you want your kick drum to sound great, this is the mic. Sounds clear and punchy and needs minimal eq. That being said, I would still like to have the original packaging. As another reviewer mentioned, this did not arrive in the original Shure packaging, but rather it appears they removed the Shure branded outer sleeve, slapped an address label on the interior box and sent it out the door. In fact, it wasn’t even taped shut. Also having the original packaging helps if I sell it someday."

"My son-in-law is the lead singer in a metal band, and he has been drooling over this mic. We gifted it to him for Christmas and he was delighted, pulling up photos of various singers using the same mic. He has his own recording studio, so I trust his judgment on these things. He proceeded to tell me all the pros and cons and how he plans to use it, and I’m sorry, but it was over my head! Suffice it to say that the professional was happy."

"We were looking for a Retro design Microphone, but also wanted quality, professional sound. This Microphone met our expectations, plus some. We use it for recording and playing live. The sound is incredible. No feedback. People at shows come up to comment on the "Buddy Holly" design. Highly recommended"

"I got this mic for myself as a birthday gift 1 month shy of a year ago. I waited to review until I used it enough times and long enough to really know it's quality.
I dig it! The build quality is substantial, quite a bit of weight. Indeed it does have no proximity effect, meaning whether I am inches away or mouthing it, I get the same nice crisp sound. No booming or whining treble.
Very beautiful and I have gotten many compliments.
Nice snug connection. Easy to keep clean. Works very well whether I am inside a noisy bar or outside. Use is easy, plug and play!
Offers the peace of mind as any shure mic out there!"

"I didn’t think one could hear the difference so clearly. I have always used SM58 microphones and they are amazing. I wanted an upgrade and hesitated because of the price. However, all I did was unplug my SM58 and plug this in, no other adjustments, and the difference was clear. If you have it in the budget this mic is a worthwhile investment!"
